Fulton irons out space problems of steam boiler for hospital laundry

A bespoke version of Fulton’s gas-fired 40E steam boiler has been installed to serve the laundry of Peamount Hospital near Dublin to solve the problems of poor access due to the location of the boiler room and its small size. Jim Byrne, project engineer with contractor Concord Boiler Engineering, explains, ‘This was certainly not a straightforward boiler replacement. Following a survey of the boiler room, we realised that Fulton’s standard Series J boiler was not only too big to go through the doors, but it would also not fit next to the existing backup boiler. Thankfully, Fulton agreed to build a bespoke version for the project, which is shorter and fits perfectly.’ Concord has been using Fulton steam boilers and ancillary equipment in Ireland for over 10 years.
