A breath of fresh air in Ilford

Fresh air for a new development of flats at Centreway, Ilford, is supplied by Sonair and Innoventus ventilators from Titon. The 16-storey block provides 163 flats with one and two bedrooms and has been developed by Barratt Homes. Centreway is on a brownfield site close to major roads and a busy railway line. To ensure good air quality while preventing intrusive sound entering the dwellings via the ventilation, Acoustics Design Consultants were approached and recommended the fitting of Sonair and Innoventus units. The Sonair wall ventilator is a stand-alone decentralised air-supply unit with excellent sound-attenuation properties. It supplies filtered air and is very quiet in operation. Innoventus units have the same performance characteristics and work with a standard radiator. These ventilation units can be linked to a central exhaust system to ensure that the quantity of air extracted is matched by that supplied. A control system can regulate the supply and extract of air, and a unit can be adjusted to personal preferences. Carbon-dioxide sensors can be added to the control systems.
