Reznor man wins double gold in rowing competition

It was two gold medals for Chris Price (second from left), and an after-sales technician with Reznor UK, in the British and World Coastal Rowing Championships in Guernsey recently. With four team mates from his Dover rowing club, he fought off stiff competition from the world’s best coastal rowers from as far afield as New Zealand. Conditions for the event, in its third year, were tough. Chris Price tells us, ‘At one point, the bow was pointing vertically going over the waves. Our boat is narrow and lightweight. Everyone was predicting we would sink, but in the end we won out over the heavier boats. The team trained four times a week for the 10 km championship course — first securing gold for the British competition and then the world title.
