The 10 luxury apartments in this have their heating and hot-water requirements met by efficient central plant with Evinox Modusat interfaces in each apartment.
To benefit from the potential for centralised plant to achieve higher efficiency than decentralised plant, Evinox has supplied a Geminox condensing boiler module and Modusat interface units to provide heating and hot water for a development of 10 luxury apartments in Swanage. At the heart of the system is a Geminox THI 10-100 module, which comprises two boilers of 50 kW each that can modulate down to 10 kW. In each apartment of the Broadleys development is a Modusat unit that provides the same autonomy as an individual boiler and tank. Heat meters provide accurate billing of the energy used. Other benefits of Modusat units include high SAP ratings, costs savings on gas infrastructure and the capability of preserving the aesthetics of the building. It is suited to underfloor heating, radiators, cooling in summer. In the longer term, the central plant could be adapted to use renewable energy sources.
