Hot-water generators exploit condensation for efficiency

MHS Boilers has launched a range of hot-water generators that can deliver up to 650 l of water raised through 50 K to be drawn in 10 min, using a 60 kW condensing heater and storage vessel of 300 or 500 l. Xpressflo units can also deliver a central-heating service of up to 43 kW when there is no demand for hot water. A cold-feed connection into the storage vessel maximises the potential of these units to operate in condensing mode. The cold feed injects the cold refilling water towards the intake of the tubing system that delivers the water into the condensing heating unit. In addition, hot water is injected towards the outflow connection on the storage vessel, so the unit can deliver hot water almost instantaneously. NOx emissions are less than 15 mg/kWh at 0% oxygen (Class 5).
