Automatic balancing independent of differential pressure

Essco Controls
Essco Controls offers the range of FlowCon pressure-independent automatic balancing valves in the UK.

FlowCon pressure-independent automatic balancing valves use cartridges to provide a range of flows from 40 to 16 100 l/h in valve bodies from DN15 to DN50. They are available in the UK from Essco Controls.

The SME cartridge, for example, which is typically used for fan-coil applications, offers an actuated control valve within a balancing valve. This device is independent of differential pressure and combines a full-stroke modulation control valve with an automatic balancing valve. The modulation flow control has 100% authority over the preset maximum flow of the cartridge, and always using full stroke of the spindle avoids a dead band.

For larger diameters up to DN150, FlowCon SH valves are externally adjustable, but with a built-in diaphragm.

For thermostatic balancing valves, the T-Just cartridge limits the temperature to a preset maximum on an external adjustment. The cartridge has manual over-ride or it can be fitted with an actuator for purging legionella.
