WR Refrigeration claims to be the first commercial refrigeration contractor to achieve City & Guilds accreditation as a training provider under C&G 2079 (refrigerant safe handling). The accreditation covers the company’s national training facility in Birmingham, which includes a working mini supermarket operating on carbon dioxide.

WR is now rolling out a national programme to train its 300-plus engineers under the 2079 refrigerant safe handling scheme.

Hugh Cole, WR’s managing director, says, ‘It is an exciting development for WR. It will ensure our engineers stay at the forefront in terms of skills and the need to protect the environment, while at the same time opening up a fresh opportunity in commercial training at a time of great industry need.’
