Powercall provides power-with-in-the-hour cover to Magdalene for Geo contract

powercall

Power security for telecom services provider Magdalene and its fibre-networks solutions provider Geo is ensured by a 5-year contract with Powercall UK. As part of this agreement, Powercall is providing an emergency callout generator call-out service to 21 Geo network sites around the UK.

The contract ensures that all Geo network sites will have secondary back-up power provided by Powercall’s nationwide generator network in case of mains failure. A generator will be despatched from a local depot with a target time of less than an hour and a guaranteed commitment to a maximum of three hours.

Darrel Wainwright, general manager of network operations at Magdalene explains, ‘With so many sites, it would neither be practical nor cost effective to install secondary standby at each of Geo’s sites. An integral part of the contract has been our ability to demonstrate that we can quickly and cost effectively provide secondary standby power to support Geo’s sites in the event of a prolonged power cut. Powercall UK has enabled us to meet this criteria.’
