Inviron MD named Entrepreneur of the Year

Inviron

Inviron’s managing direct Gerry Metcalfe was named a winner in Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for the north of England and the Midlands.

The award acknowledges him leading a buy-out of ABB’s FM and building-services activities in the UK at the end of 2003. The new organisation was named Inviron and is said to be the largest employee-owned service provider of its kind in the UK.

The judges described him as an ‘unassuming MD who led the business buyout, but took less than 50% ownership — sharing the rest amongst all of the employees through shares and share options’
