A fitting test for a plumbing fitting

Pegler Yorkshire, push fittings

If you ever have a need to suspend a 1.4 t car in mid air, then a Tectite Pro Push-fit plumbing fitting from Pegler Yorkshire could be just what you need. The fitting used here is 140 mm long and usually used to connect lengths of 54 mm pipe. This experiment was a unique part of the company’s rigorous testing measures and also helped to raise £400 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Sally Crerar, head of community fund raising with Yorkshire Cancer Research said, ‘This is a most unusual way to raise funds, as it must be the first time we have benefited from a donation following an event where a car is suspended in thin air.’

Phil Jackson, marketing manager with Pegler Yorkshire commented, ‘All our products go through rigorous testing measures before being introduced to the market, but I agree this is a particularly unusual way of testing.’
