Faber Maunsell and Bullen practices merge

Consulting-engineering practices Faber Maunsell and Bullen have been merged by US parent organisation AECOM. Bullen has over 500 employees with offices throughout the UK. It provides services in buildings, environment, rail and highways. Ken Dalton, CEO of Faber Maunsell, believes that the complementary fit of expertise and geographical spread will enhance combined business in the UK market for the future. Bullen’s managing director Richard Taylor and director Gordon Pomphrey are joining the Faber Maunsell executive management group. The combined company has over 2500 employees in 30 offices across the UK.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
