Energy 2005 includes top conference line-up

The finalised seminar programmes for the Energy 2005 Exhibition in September include energy assessment and reporting presented by John Field of Target Energy Services and energy management and changing regulations by Hywel Davies, research manager with CIBSE. A presentation on sustainable water services will be shared by Edward Clarke of Arup Associations and Norman Hurst of IBH Associates. Attendance at these sessions qualifies for CPD points. The Major Energy Users Council will stage a 2-day conference for professional electricity and gas purchasers. It will cover energy pricing, metering, purchasing tactics, strategy, policies and environmental issues. Energy 2005 will be held at the National Motor Cycle Museum on 7 and 8 September.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
