More capabilities for Virtual Environment

The latest version of Virtual Environment (IESVE 2012) from Integrated Environmental Solutions includes the new ModelViewer II, which features solar shading, solar arc and improved reporting capabilities — and which is available to all users of VE-Gaia and VE-Pro. Important solar-analysis features have also been added to the VE-Pro module SunCast, enable users to view solar energy/intensity on a 3D model.

ModelViewer II enables users to view real-time shadows on the 3D model, choosing the date and time they want shown. The new solar-arc tool visualises the Sun’s position in the sky in relation to the 3D model, and the user can choose to toggle on or off views that show azimuth, altitude, defined time, Sun rise, Sun set, autumn equinox, and summer and winter solstices. Video animations can be created across time periods.

The new solar-analysis features give users the ability to view solar intensity and solar exposure on a 3D model and determine their own parameters for analysis such as time period and resolution. This feature enables the most effective place to position solar panels to be identified.
