Clear message for cinema goers

Vimpex, fire alarm, voice sounder
In the event of a fire at the Odeon cinema in Camden, clear instructions will be give by Vimpex Fire-Cryer Plus message voice sounders.

Upgrading to voice sounders at the Odeon cinema in Camden will help ensure the fast and safe evacuation of staff and the public in the event of a fire. The Vimpex Fire-Cryer Plus system was specified by Odeon UK’s risk-management director Peter Ford following its use in many other Odeon cinema in recent years. The upgrade was designed and installed by Premier Fire Systems, which also worked on many of the other Odeon projects.

A major benefit of the Fire-Cryer system for applications such as cinema refurbishments is the ease of upgrading from the original sounder circuits, as the existing wiring can often be used. Units can be fully synchronised and have a low current consumption, making for simple replacement of existing sounders and bells.

Each unit can be programmed with up to seven messages from a library of thousands. Many messages are multi-lingual.

A total of 41 voice sounders were used for this project, including standard wall-mounted white units and Midi and Maxi high-output variants.
