AET joins Primaria’s New Air mission

AET, Primaria, heat pump, space heating, heat recovery

Advanced Ergonomic Technologies (AET) has joined forces with Italian air-conditioning manufacturer Primaria to provide its New Air heating and cooling solution, which integrates heat-pump and heat-recovery technologies for very high efficiency building-services applications.

‘New Air is a system that offers exceptionally efficient and controlled tempered fresh air for optimum energy savings,’ says Glan Blake Thomas, managing director of AET. ‘It represents a breakthrough over conventional heat-recovery ventilation to provide a more efficient performance, reduced carbon emissions and lower fuel bills.’

In summer the cooler indoor air is used to cool incoming warmer air via a heat exchanger and then passes through the condenser of the heat pump to optimise performance. The partially cooled incoming air then passes through the cooling coil of the heat pump to help deliver more energy-efficient cooling into the space.

In winter months, warmer indoor air transfers part of its energy to preheat incoming cold air. This outgoing air then passes through the cooling coil of the heat pump to increase the yield, while the partially heated incoming air passes through the hot coil of the heat pump to provide more energy efficient heating.

Units are available with flow capacities from 7000 to 30 000 m3/h.
