LED drivers

Helvar’s drivers for LED lighting fittings include a 30 W dimmable (pictured) and 60 W constant-current version. They have a projected life of 50 000 h and are suitable for a wide range of fixtures — including downlights, track lights and linear lights in offices, schools, hospitals and retail environments.

The 30 W driver can dim down to 1% of full output and offers a range of selectable constant-current outputs of 350, 500 and 700 mA, with custom currents on request. These drivers are compatible with Helvar’s MIMO3 and uDim sensors.

The 60 W driver has selectable constant-current outputs of 350, 700 and 1400 mA. Its efficiency exceeds 90%, and power factor is 0.97. It is suitable for external use, with an IP65 rating. The driver can be installed up to 5 m from the LED source and combines open- and short-circuit protection.

Peter van der Kolk, business-development manager, says, ‘The importance of matching voltage and drive current between LED source and driver cannot be underestimated and must be co-ordinated to achieve the best performance and lifespan possible.’
