Electronic commissioning device is accurate and reliable

Following over 20 years in commissioning, engineer Duncan Selby has developed an electronic commissioning device for piped services that is said to provide the ultimate in accuracy, reliability and convenience. The Comdronic Ac5 features an over-pressure system that allows laser-trimmed sensors combined with 32-point calibration program to produce what is claimed to be unrivalled accuracy. The device is driven by a micro-processor, making it small enough to sit in the palm of a hand. All functions are accessed by just four buttons: direct reading of differential pressure and flow; percentage of design and target flow; display of lowest and highest differential pressure and range; and selection of balancing valve from 15 manufacturers. Anti-kink pipes with snap connectors provide connections to the system. Comdronic Ac5 units can be hired from BSRIA Instrument Solutions, whose general manager Dave Stephens says, ‘Following extensive testing of the instrument, we were impressed with its accuracy, stability and simplicity of use.
