National approach wins major contract for Cofathec

The offices of the Crown Prosecution Service at Ludgate Hill in London is one of 97 buildings included in a maintenance and management contract awarded to Cofathec Heatsave.
Cofathec Heatsave has been awarded a national contract to provide a comprehensive range of maintenance and management services to the estate of the Crown Prosecution Service. Working with managing agent Donaldsons, Cofathec is responsible for reactive and preventive mechanical and electrical maintenance, management of specialist sub-contractors and related small works for 97 buildings. This limited-liability contract minimises the risk to the client of unplanned capital expenditure, with the use of key performance indicators to monitor performance. Nigel Oliver of Donaldsons, says of the contract, ‘While most industries have moved to national models, the M&E maintenance industry has been slow to move in that direction, but Cofathec Heatsave has proved to be very accommodating in meeting its customer’s needs. To achieve a national overview, Cofathec Heatsave has based its management team in Birmingham, providing a single point of contact, at a senior level, for the client. All maintenance requests are submitted through a central help desk to simplify the reporting of reactive tasks. The early stages of the contract include a full inspection of plant to produce life-cycle reports so that future plant replacement can be planned and budgeted accurately.
