The first national FM contract awarded by e.on, which owns Powergen, has been won by Inviron.
The company which owns Powergen, e.on UK, has awarded a major facilities-management and service contract to the national facilities-management team of Inviron. The contract is worth over £1 million a year and covers 26 sites at present. Negotiations led by David Gill, Inviron’s general manager for FM&S, began in May 2004. David Graham, facilities contractors and projects manager with e.on UK, comments, ‘This was e.on UK facilities team’s first national contract, so it was critical that we got it right form the outset. Inviron was awarded the contract based on their refreshing and forward-thinking approach to the provision of building maintenance and minor works.’ The scope of the contract covers technical facilities maintenance, including HVAC, BMS, HV, lighting and small power, water hygiene, fire alarms, standby generation and UPS, portable-appliance testing, fixed-wire testing, lifts, catering equipment and automatic doors. 19 Inviron staff are involved in the operation, including a dedicated contract manager and help desk.
