A thousand-up for Daikin heat-pump programme

A landmark 1000 installations of Daikin Altherma air-to-water heat pumps for Dumfries & Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP) was achieved during a major project to upgrade existing housing to meet the 2015 Scottish housing quality standards by reaching an RdSAP rating of 63. The Dumfries & Galloway area has many small towns and villages that are off the gas grid.

The programme of improvements includes renewable central-heating systems for some 1650 homes. As part of the project, insulation of cavity walls, lofts and floors is being improved.

Central to the success of the project is the employment of a tenant liaison officer before and after installation to ensure tenants understand the technology and ensure they operate and control systems correctly to achieve the required level of comfort and operational efficiency.
