Plumbing fittings contain no lead

Sanha, lead free plumbing fittings, pipes, pipework

Ahead of changes to EU drinking-water regulations coming into force in December 2013, the German company Sanha has developed a range of press and threaded plumbing fittings made from a patented copper allow that is 100% lead free. The new fittings are now available in the UK and come in distinctive green packaging with a ‘Pb-free’ logo.

The new European Drinking Water Directive sets a limit for the lead content of drinking water of 0.01 mg/l. With this extremely low threshold, Sanha suggests that the lead that can be leached into water form standard alloys is a problem for contractors.

Sanha’s new fittings include threaded red brass fittings (series 3000), Sanha-Press (series 800) and 3-fit Press (series 25000), all suitable for use with copper and composite pipes.
