Electronic balancing valve uses Modbus

Marflow Hydronics, electronic balancing valve, commissioning, balancing

Marflow Hydronics’ Dynamx electronic pressure-independent flow-control valve for HVAC systems networks over the HVAC bus with room temperature controllers or sensors to achieve dynamic pressure-independent flow control in real time. Temperature information is converted to a flow setpoint, and the flow through the valve is measured. The valve position is controlled so that the temperature setpoint in the room is maintained, regardless of variations.

These valves are best installed in the return pipe so that the built-in temperature sensor can measure return temperature to enable power calculations. Straight pipe runs either side of the valve are not required.

These valves are Modbus slave devices that communicate with a Modbus on the same bus. The valve’s parameters can be set using the unit’s LCD screen or using the Modbus.

The capabilities of these valves allow quicker and easier troubleshooting of systems and simpler commissioning, even when the building is occupied. Continuous commissioning can be carried out as and when required.
