Several leading developers of gas absorption heat pumps (GAHP) have published a position paper setting out how this technology can deliver cost and carbon reductions without costly infra-structure upgrades. These companies note, however, that this technology is not supported under the Renewable Heat Incentive, but they re working towards achieving RHI eligibility.

The developers are Baxi, Robur, British Gas and Calor.

There is a wide range of GAHP products in the UK with outputs and technical characteristics suitable for commercial, industrial and community infrastructure. The technology can be applied in areas that are on or off the gas grid and achieve an energy efficiency of up to 150%.
