Self-regulating heating cables

The HeatSafe range of self-regulating electric heating cables is now available in the north of England through HeatSafe Cable Systems (Northern) as a main distributor. Applications include underfloor heating, maintaining temperature in distribution systems for domestic-hot-water and providing frost protection for exposed water pipes. These cables regulate their heat output according to temperature, so they cannot burn out or overheat — regardless of the application

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
