Grundfos takes on the pump copycats

Grundfos Pumps, pipes, pipework
The external appearance and label might look like a Grundfos pump, but illegal imports are finding their way into the UK.

Growing concerns about illegal pump imports from countries such as China have led to UK pump specialists such as Grundfos, part of the British Pump Manufacturers’ Association, taking part in active dialogue with the National Measurement Office.

Grundfos comments that the situation has been exacerbated since legislation that allows high energy efficiency products to be available in Europe and that non-conforming look-alike products are starting to be seen in the marketplace with concerning regularity.

Pumps account for 10% of the world’s electricity consumption, so helping identify pumps that are being illegally imported is seen as time well spent.
