Redesigned in readiness for the implementation of a European Directive next year is ebm-papst’s RER range of fans.
ebm-papst UK has redesigned the impeller on its RER and RG160 range of DC blowers to comply with European Directive 2002/95.RG (RoHS), which prohibits the use of lead for balancing fan impellers. This directive comes into force on 1 July 2006, and ebm-papst has reacted well in advance to redesign the fan to produce a blower that is 8 dB quieter at its optimum operating point than the previous model. These fans are said to be almost three times quieter than existing products. The price is unchanged.
