Mikrofill delivers new heating for dance school

Mikrofill, boilers, space heating

Heating and hot water for a former police housing site in Edgbaston that has been redeveloped to provide accommodation for 30 dance students with pastoral care is provided by Mikrofill boilers. An associate school of Birmingham Royal Ballet, Elmhurst School for Dance teaches ballet to students aged 11 to 19. The site is owned by Calthorpe Estates and has been redeveloped by Shaylor Group.

The new plantroom includes four Ethos 130 kW LPHW condensing boilers, each of which can modulate down to 10% of full output. They also provide indirect heat to two Extreme 500 l loading cylinders that produce over 5000 l/h on peak demand.

RPS Group’s Birmingham office provided the mechanical specification, and MVS Mechanical Services carried out the detailed design and installation.
