Ducted fan-coil units from Daikin

FCU
Daikin’s FWB range of fan-coil units is designed for ducted applications.
Daikin Europe has added a ducted model to its range of 2- and 4-pipe fan-coil units. The FWB has nine cooling capacities from 3 to 13 kW. Airflows are from 500 to 1350 m3/h, with static pressures from 50 to 60 Pa. The base 2-pipe unit is complete with acrylic-fibre filter and optionally fitted 2- or 3-way valves. An additional heat exchanger for 4-pipe operation or an electric heater bank can be added to the base unit. A very wide range of unit-selection possibilities to match varying operating sound and capacity requirements is achieved by the provision of 3-, 4-, or 6-row finned heat exchangers and single, double or triple forward bladed centrifugal fans. There are seven pre-wired fan speeds, from which three can be selected via the remote electronic controller. Special vibrating damper support to the fan assembly enables sound power levels as low as 36 dB(A) to be achieved at low speed on certain models. Up to four fan-coil units can be regulated for single control via the Daikin master-slave interface combined with the remote controller, which offers automatic fan-speed selection based on the difference between set point and room temperature.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Baxi research suggests schools strongly support heat decarbonisation

A survey conducted by Baxi of 200 state school estates managers, consultant engineers and M&E contractors has found that while enthusiasm for Net Zero and support for low carbon heating systems in schools is thriving, persistent barriers remain.
