Controlling LED lighting

Flex Connector, control, lighting, LED

Flex Connector’s flex7 lighting controls now include specially made relays for the high inrush current created by LED fittings. LED lighting is growing in popularity and has many advantages over other types of lighting. However, designers and installers must consider the higher inrush current of LED devices compared to incandescent lighting.

The high-inrush relay (up to 120 A) used by Flex Connectors incorporate ‘pre-make’ contacts that absorb the substantial inrush current. The main contacts then only need to handle the quiescent load current; as a result, the life of the relay is dramatically increased.
