Construction Manager of the Year named

John Roper of Sir Robert McAlpine has been named Construction Manager of the Year. He won the award for his work leading the team that bid for and built the Paul O’Gormon Building for the Northern Institute of Cancer Research at Newcastle University. According to the judges, he ‘demonstrated an excellent understanding of how the project could be successfully delivered within a challenging, live, inner-city environment’. This award scheme has been run by the Chartered Institute of Building for 25 years.
