Frese valves boost efficiency of London office development

Contributing to the energy-efficiency of the fan-coil heating and cooling system for the £80 million Building 7 at Chiswick Park are 1060 Modula Compact units from Frese. The valves for this 12-storey 31 000 m2 office building, the largest building on the Chiswick Park development, were supplied complete with metering station and solder union couplings.

The use of solder union couplings facilitated easy installation using the tailpipes of the fan-coil units. These pressure-independent valves for controlling flow and temperature achieve precise control of heating and cooling and led to up to a 50% saving on the energy used by a circulating pump and other significant energy savings by enabling boilers and chillers to work more efficiently.

Stephen Hart, managing director of Frese in the UK, says, ‘Chiswick Park is a prestigious development, one of the key developments in London. By working with Frese, its environmental impact is significantly less than if it had been fitted with more-traditional manually balanced valves.’
