LG opens UK air-conditioning training academy

LG has invested £500 000 in the development of an air-conditioning training academy that can provide courses for over 240 air-conditioning engineers and contractors each month. Located at the company’s headquarters in Slough, the academy comprises a fully equipped product showroom housing all the company’s split, multi-split and VRF ranges. It also includes live demonstrators and tuition rooms fitted with the latest training aids. Tony Gittings, general manager with LG Air Conditioning in the UK, says, ‘We know of no other manufacturer that has such a high standard of both training facilities coupled with expert tuition and in-depth courses, some of which lead to a/c-industry qualifications. ‘Air-conditioning installers and contractors must keep abreast of rapid technological changes in the a/c industry. As a major manufacturer, we believe that full training facilities and comprehensive courses on a/c are readily available in the UK. The industry is demanding these standards, and major players such as LG are the ones who can deliver.’ There are courses for commissioning, servicing and installation engineers and specifiers. Five main courses are offered at present, and they will be CPD accredited. Contractors can apply to the LG distribution network to book places on individual courses, or telephone Christine Williams on 01753 876772.
