Zehnder opens Customer Experience Centre

Zehnder, Bisque, Greenwood Airvac, radiant heating, radiators, cooling

Zehnder Group has created a Customer Experience Centre at its headquarters in Camberley, Surrey, to demonstrate to visitors its mission to deliver a healthy, comfortable and energy-efficient indoor climate. It showcases the company’s complete indoor-climate product and service offer for the commercial, domestic and industrial sectors.

The showroom within the centre also includes solutions from other divisions of Zehnder Group UK — Bisque and Greenwood Airvac. The host of products displayed includes decorative radiators, radiant heating and cooling ceiling systems, industrial radiant heating and cooling, Passive House heat-recovery ventilation and clean-air solutions.

Being part of a fully operational commercial building, the Customer Experience Centre enables specifiers to appreciate how solutions will look, how they are controlled and how they make the environment feel. The centre includes open-plan offices, meeting rooms, break-out areas and product-design and testing areas.

A key feature of the centre is the Flat 51 purpose-built 55 m2 apartment fitted with a sophisticated indoor climate system. It has an air-leakage rate of just 1.68 m3/h/m2 at 50 Pa; BSRIA best practice for dwellings is a maximum of 5 m3/h/m2 at 50 Pa.

Heating, cooling, ventilation and relative humidity are all managed by one user control — avoiding conflict between the various services. Heating and cooling are provided by active walls with tubes embedded in them.

What sets Flat 51 apart is humidity control, which is programmed to achieve 10.5 g of moisture per 1 kg of dry air at 20°C.
