Rinnai offers BMS control of continuous-flow water heaters

Rinnai, BMS, BEMS, building management systems

Rinnai continuous-flow water heaters can be fully connected with building-management systems across multiple platforms — including popular protocols such as Modbus and BACnet. No longer need water heaters be isolated in lonely plant rooms.

Chris Goggin, associate director with Rinnai in the UK, says, ‘Traditional energy-supply networks are under increasing pressure, with great volatility in supply, so it is essential that as a responsible manufacturer we do our utmost to produce economical and highly efficient products that will help to limit the overload.

‘As we move towards the utopia of “smart” grids for the distribution of our energy supply and with the development of smart monitoring to support those smart grids there is now a increased need for BMS-compatible smart controls for heating and hot water systems to keep energy costs at a manageable level.

‘Intelligent controls that boost the performance of heating and hot-water systems must not be looked on as a desirable option but as a fundamental component of any installation. They are also very much part of the future as they work extremely well as boosters for renewable systems.’
