Dimplex has produced a guidance leaflet about the forthcoming Part L of the Building Regulations and electric heating. Marketing manager Chris Davis explains, ‘When used with advanced control systems, electric heating is better placed to meet the heavily reduced heat losses of modern buildings. We also recognise the benefits of integrating traditional electric heating systems with renewable systems such as heat pumps and are currently working on a long-term programme to investigate hybrid systems.’

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
