Heat-pump gives 5-star performance in hotel

Calorex
Seven Calorex heat pumps in a Bangkok hotel cool spaces with heat problems and put the heat into hot-water circuits — replacing an oil-fired boiler.
Replacing oil-fired boilers with an air-to-water heat-pump, heat-recovery system in a luxury hotel in Bangkok will achieve a payback of four years. BTP Thailand has installed seven Calorex units in the 428-bedroomed Radisson Hotel, and the boiler is only required for back up. The system generates free cooling, via a ductwork system, for areas that had previously suffered extreme heat problems, such as the laundry room, lift control room and the lobby. AW1534 floor-standing heat pumps extract energy from an air source and upgrade it to heat for water systems with a COP of up to five.
