Grundfos wrestles with pumping solution for Olympic Games martial-arts venue

Almost 150 pumps have been supplied by Grundfos for the Ano Liossia Olympic Hall, the venue for wrestling and judo 9 km from the Athens Olympic Village. The pumps support the water supply, air conditioning (vital with temperatures regularly exceeding 40°C in August) wastewater and fire systems. Working closely with the contractor from an early stage of development,Grundfos devised a working partnership to provide a bespoke solution. Wrestling dates back to 708 BC, when the first wrestling match was recorded at the ancient Olympics. The martial-arts principles from which judo derives are chronicled as early as 720 AD. uk-sales@grundfos.com
