Fire-rated ductwork in Docklands

A £600 000 contract to provide smoke-extract and ventilation services for a new 14-storey office building in London’s Docklands has been completed by Fire Protection Ltd. The building is owned by Canary Wharf and leased to McGraw Hill. The project involved providing smoke-extract and ventilation services all all three basement levels and stair- and lift-pressurisation ducts. It uses FPL’s Flamebar BW11 ductwork system to provide up to four hours of fire protection. It has been tested under furnace conditions.
