Apreco helps Hong Kong hospitals fight SARS

By maintaining negative pressures in isolation rooms in leading Hong Kong hospitals, Apreco’s VARI-centric air-pressure stabilisers are helping to contain new SARS infections. The company had just a fortnight to produce and despatch the equipment for eight hospitals, following an order from its distributor Anyway Engineering. The order was mainly for small single-blade units with duties of about 80 l/s at 5 Pa. Larger multi-blade units were also supplied. The VARI-centric balancing system accurately controls the airflow and differential pressure between adjacent rooms and closes fully as soon as the pressure differential drops below the required level. This enables the airflow to be switched to pass through an open door, forcing back airborne contamination without the need to alter air supply or extract rates. info@apreco.co.uk
