Cofathec acquires Energy Services

Energy and facilities provider Cofathec has acquired Energy Services Ltd as part of its strategic expansion in the energy-management market. The acquisition of ESL, which is based in Halesowen, will boost Cofathec’s turnover by £5 million and bring in 17 more staff members. Richard Derry, chief executive of Cofathec Heatsave, says, ‘ESL operates a range of highly successful energy-management contracts in the private and public sectors, including a major PFI.’

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
