New Carrier facility provides witness testing of FCUs

Montluel
Carrier’s new facility for fan-coil units is part of an ISO-certified laboratory.
The opening of a state-of-the-art demonstration facility for fan-coil units enables customers to witness performance testing before a building is built. Virtually any building characteristics can be created. A wide range of windows, flooring and ceilings are held on site at Montluel in France, and thermal loads, outdoor and ambient temperatures, and the effects of solar heat gain can be replicated and varied at will. This new facility is part of an ISO-certified laboratory, and every measurement is taken to ISO standards. Pierre Yves Rollett, director Carrier Commercial explains that visitors can witness exactly how the Carrier system will deliver their specified design conditions. ‘In this way, we can manage the performance and quality of the complete system, and we are able to test and adjust it to the precise customer requirements. In addition, there is a new complete computer selection program to allow component matching. It is a state-of-the-art selection tool developed by the only true “system” manufacturer, which can design and build the chillers, the terminal fan coil, the controls and the diffuser.’
