Fan-convector heaters for condensing boilers

Biddle
The fan-convector heater that works with condensing boilers — Biddle’s Forceflow CB.
Biddle has enhanced the design of its Forceflow fan-convector heaters to operate with lower water temperatures — such as those delivered by condensing boilers. Although a traditional fan convector can work with flow/return temperatures of 60/40°C, the heat output is severely compromised. The Forceflow CB incorporates a heater battery/coil with much greater surface area than those traditionally used in fan convectors. This greater surface area increases heat transfer, enabling these heaters to deliver as much heat as a traditional fan convector working with water at 82/71°C. Forceflow CB is available in over 20 different styles (cased or recessed, vertical or horizontal) and five sizes. Maximum heat output is 17 kW with a noise level of NR35.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Baxi research suggests schools strongly support heat decarbonisation

A survey conducted by Baxi of 200 state school estates managers, consultant engineers and M&E contractors has found that while enthusiasm for Net Zero and support for low carbon heating systems in schools is thriving, persistent barriers remain.
