Simmtronic installs lighting controls for Manchester development

Digital lighting controls for this building on the Spinningfields development in Manchester are being supplied by Simmtronic.
Simmtronic has supplied the fully addressable digital lighting-controls system for a new corporate office building on the new Spinningfields development in Manchester. Due for completion in March, 2 Hardman Street is an 8-storey building offering 13 300 m2 of office space and a basement car park. M&E contractor NG Bailey commissioned Simmtronic to provide the system for the Cat A fit-out, with switches at entrances to open office spaces, presence detection in toilets and corridor-hold functions on stairways and at lift lobbies. A multi-gang switch in the security control room incorporates indicators to show which lights are on in the building. The Manchester Evening News will occupy several floors, and Simmtronic is preparing the lighting-control scheme for the Cat B fit-out with consultants Ernest Griffiths & Son. Building on its backbone system, the lighting controls will be tailored to the requirements of the incoming tenant, with features including presence detection, switching, AV interfaces and some upgrading for dimming.
