It’s a brise for GDL

GDL

GDL has recently completed the design, manufacture and installation of its Intelishade ISEF-200 fixed horizontal blade elliptical solar shading system, on behalf of Henry Boot Construction, a prestigious, Grade I listed historic hotel with spa on the outskirts of Harrogate. The new spa features a landscaped roof top garden, an infinity swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, thermal and treatment rooms as well as glass fronted saunas and outdoor hot tub to enjoy the Yorkshire countryside.

The construction of the award-winning luxury spa facility is now complete and open to the public. GDL supplied 47 metres of uniquely designed and extruded elliptical blade which has been installed to minimise solar gains and contributing to the relaxing and holistic experience that the hotel spa offers to its guests.

The design challenge GDL had to meet was to carefully balance the practical benefits of a bespoke solar shading system, whilst simultaneously maintaining an aesthetically agreeable appearance within the natural environment.

GDL provides a full turn-key service that includes design, manufacture and installation. The company specialises in the manufacture of grilles, diffusers, louvres, natural ventilation, brise soleil and heat recovery systems.
