Meeting the 10% renewable-energy target — Mitsubishi Electric’s CPD-accredited guide.
Mitsubishi Electric has published a CPD-accredited guide on meeting the 10% renewable-energy target. This target is being introduced by a growing number of local councils, with all new or converted non-residential buildings having to provide at least 10% of predicted energy requirements from renewable sources. Ian Parry, business development manager for Mitsubishi Electric’s air-conditioning division, explains, ‘It is no longer acceptable for developers to say that renewable energy was not chosen because it was not financially viable. Developers must now include renewable-energy sources if they want to get planning permission, and these changes are only the first step in what is set to become rather stringent building laws.’
