Shouksmiths moves into north west

Building-services company Shouksmiths has bought KEDA Plumbing of Bolton as part of Shouksmith’s expansion strategy to give a permanent base in the north west. KEDA Plumbing has a turnover exceeding £1 million a year. All 20 staff, including 15 plumbers, will be retained. John Miller, managing director of Shouksmiths, says, ‘Our business plan identified that we needed to establish a permanent base in the north west, and we were introduced to KEDA Plumbing at a time when the previous owners were looking to sell. They have a very high quality and committed workforce, a healthy future workload, and their corporate culture fits exactly with ours.’ Shouksmiths was established in 1820 in York and has offices in York, Sheffield, Gloucester and, now, Bolton. Full design facilities are provided in house, and contracts range from £40 000 to £4 million.
