Literary prize for preinsulated ducting

Koolduct
Helping to achieve environmental conditions in an £8 million project in this library at Southampton University is Kingspan’s KoolDuct pre-insulated ducting.
As part of an £8 million expansion of the University of Southampton’s Hartley Library to expand its general collection for the next 10 years and allow it to acquire special collections of archives for the next 20 years, Kingspan’s KoolDuct system is used to distribute conditioned air. The project provides 4000 m2 of accommodation and includes the refurbishment of a further 4000 m2. Its archives include collections of papers written by the Duke of Wellington, Lord Palmerston and Lord Mountbatten. Ducting specialist Greenhall Insulation Contracts installed 700 m2 of the lightweight, yet strong, KoolDuct system. The ducting is installed externally on the roof of the new building and clad with metal to protect it from the weather. It is installed internally for riser ducts. M&E consultants were Atelier 10. literature.uk@insulation.kingspan.com
