As part of a planned replacement programme over the next two or three years, Clyde Energy Solutions is supplying Charterhouse School with new boilers. Enquiry Number 85
All boilers are Charterhouse School are progressively being replaced with modern and more efficient systems from Clyde Energy Solutions. The school is near Godalming in Surrey and has 730 students, nearly all boarders. The school buildings are spread out over a large site. Roy James, assistance maintenance manager, says, ‘We were introduced to Clyde by one of our contractors, Aldens Heating of Oxford, who installed the first products. What we like about them is the low energy consumption and the fact that because they have a low water content they heat up quickly. We were very impressed when we saw the first in action, and over the next two or three years, we will be replacing all our boilers with them.’ The plan is for all boilers to eventually be linked to an integrated energy-management system that will allow central controls and local over-rides. So far, high-efficiency wall-hung stainless-steel condensing boilers have been installed in a renovated teaching block, new classrooms, administration block and the boarding houses. They are available with outputs from 58 to 180 kW and are supplied with controls that enable up to eight boilers to be combined in cascade operation to give an output up to 1440 kW.
