Described by Vaillant as the highest performing flat-plate solar collector available in the UK — the AuroTherm VFK 900.
Vaillant claims that its AuroTherm VFK 900 flat-plate solar collector is the highest performing available in the UK It joins the company’s total-solar-system solution launched earlier this year. Construction features include ultra-sonically welded copper absorbers and 60 mm of insulation on the rear and sides. It has a solar-glass transmission of 91%. It has an attractive polished-aluminium frame and is described as competitively priced for households when the weight and size of collector is less important. The glass is 4 mm thick for increased robustness. The overall size is 1160 x 1930 x 110 mm, with an absorber area of 2 m2. These collectors are suitable for pitched or flat roofs and can also be integrated within the roof itself. Mark Wilkins, brand manager with Vaillant, says, ‘Solar domestic-hot-water systems have really come of age. No longer are they simply the domain of the very specialist heating engineer or the wealthiest homeowners. With their ease of installation, we believe our product range will enable more heating engineers to specify these products.’
