Nuaire has won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for its energy-saving ventilation systems. These systems include the Ecosmart demand ventilation systems that save energy, improve occupant comfort and extend equipment life. The company’s positive-input-ventilation systems were also selected for special mention; installed in homes, they reduce dampness, save energy and improve air quality. Nuaire’s managing director David Willcox says, ‘We are very serious about innovation and are constantly seeking to develop our entire product range. Winning a Queen’s Award reinforces this message and recognises our dedication to ongoing research and development.’ Ecosmart demand-control systems can now be applied to nearly all Nuaire’s commercial fan ranges. They have been installed in several thousand commercial and public buildings in the UK. The company believes that as the new Building Regulations start to take effect, Ecosmart will provide specifiers and contractors with ready-made solutions that will assist compliance. The system has been found to more than halve the energy lost through conventional ventilation in some buildings.
